Assessing which biomass is best for our boiler is not as simple as it might seem. In fact, there are several factors that need to be taken into account, beyond the performance level of each fuel.
Every biomass fuel produces, first of all, a more or less clean combustion, and this is a not insignificant factor in safeguarding the boiler itself. Secondly, the low or high efficiency of the biomass also affects the storage of the material. Having to manage 10 quintals of product per year or 100 is not exactly the same thing in your home. With all that this entails also for the disposal of ashes and for the daily effort of having to load the fuel in the boiler.
Finally, the price of biomass must also be evaluated in relation to the distance between our home and its place of production. Transportation is a major factor in the price and for this reason there are fuels, such as peanuts, that can replace the more renowned pellets if they are produced locally.
Not everyone is aware of the fact that the pomace, obtained from the processing of olives, is a valid alternative to pellets.
Assuming that only some boilers are suitable for burning other types of biomass other than pellets, the calorific value of olive pomace is around 6. 2/7. 4 Kw/Kg compared to about 4. 4 Kw/kg of wood pellets. Not only that, the pomace stone reduces the production of smoke and ash.
Other advantage of the pomace is its storage: being light and small, its physical volume takes up little space.
Taking into account that several factors can affect the calorific value of wood pellets as well as of peanuts, it can be stated that under ideal conditions the calorific value of olive pomace peanuts is higher than the calorific value of wood pellets. In addition, pomace is cheaper, 15-20 € per quintal, than pellets, 30-32 € per quintal.
Regardless of which solid fuel you choose to feed into your biomass boiler, the handling and storage of the fuel itself is a major problem. The handling of quintals of peanuts or pellets in particular creates problems in terms of storage space and the effort involved in loading the boiler.
In this regard, the Advance Easy Moving range offers a number of tailor-made solutions to ensure automatic transport of the fuel you choose to feed your boiler. The system of material suction by the vacuum units, regulated by an electronic dispenser, allows to save on many aspects.
First of all, economically: because with our range of tanks you can buy more fuel at a time and save on price.
Secondly, at the level of effort: because it is the vacuum unit that manages the safe and automatic transport of the fuel from the tank to the boiler.
Finally time-saving: because you no longer need to check that the boiler is powered. At the first start-up it is sufficient to manually adjust the loading times and visually check, through the transparency of the dosing device, the quantity of fuel loaded at each cycle.
